The typical problem is that the lights trigger randomly all night long, even when there is nothing moving near them. On-off. On-off. On-off. The problem typically shows up a couple of years after installation, even under benign ambient conditions. They are badly engineered and/or use poorly chosen, cheap components that age rapidly, causing them to fail decades earlier than they should. The best solution is to just not buy them.
